There is a vast array of places to eat in Birmingham, and it is home to multiple candy makers. Chocolatà Chocolatier features an extensive selection of bonbons in white, milk, and dark chocolate, and the majority of their offerings are gluten free. The mission statement of the Honeycreeper Chocolate shop states their hope “that you enjoy your flavor experience and feel extra warm and fuzzy about it knowing that whatever the form your chocolate indulgence took, it was sourced with intention.” Their menu includes everything from drinking chocolate to chocolate mousse bars and there are vegan options. The Birmingham Candy Company has multiple locations, one in the Pizitz food hall and another in Crestline Village. Along with chocolate creations they also offer tiramisu and chocolate-dipped fruit. (Their chocolate cheesecake fudge sounds particularly delicious!)
Tuscaloosa is home to Peterbrooke Chocolatier, which offers gelato as well as their chocolate treats, and they have an extensive selection of gifts and seasonal offerings to choose from. If you love chocolate-covered popcorn and marshmallows you will be in heaven.
Along our coastline there are several places to satisfy your chocolate cravings. In Point Clear you will find Punta Clara Kitchen, which began in 1952 and is still family owned and operated. Among their many menu items you can try chocolate covered toffee, pralines, and bourbon balls. You can also explore their selection of jellies and divinity candy. At Gulf Shores you will find the Chocolate Corner & Ice Cream shop, which offers everything from sea salted chocolate turtles to crunchy bark; you can also beat the heat with ice cream and smoothies. Lastly, in Mobile there is the Three Georges Candy shop, which was founded in 1917 by three Greek Mobile natives named George. A particularly delicious looking signature recipe is George’s heavenly hash, a concoction of marshmallows and pecans and milk chocolate. You can choose from multiple assortments of chocolate samplers and tins and there are also sugar free chocolates available.
