![]() (Marietta, Georgia) As a student at a large university, I knew there were aspects of the University of Alabama that I had no clue existed, and I could only hope to discover those aspects before graduation. One such aspect was Alabama Heritage, something I fortunately heard about from a friend my junior year. That friend, a journalism student, had just finished up an internship at the magazine, and knowing that I wanted to go into publishing and internship experience means everything in that industry, she suggested that I apply. While Alabama Heritage was a magazine and I wanted to go into book publishing, I hoped that I would get something useful out of the experience, if only another thing to list on my resume. Now, on my last day, I can say I wound up getting so much more out of it than that. |
Alabama Heritage BLOG
At Alabama Heritage, we owe many of our successes and smooth operations to our fabulous student interns. We hope that with this blog--written mostly by our interns as well as history students from UAB and a few from our own editors--our readers will have an opportunity to get to know the students who bring so much to the table with their enthusiasm, hard work, and expertise! If you're interested in our internship program, check out the details here. Archives
