These experiences gave me a greater appreciation for research and attention to detail as I moved into my final year as a graduate student at the University of Alabama. They also will inform my perspective as I begin doctoral study at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
As a native of Richmond, Virginia, I am familiar with the historical significance of a place’s identity. My internship at Alabama Heritage reminded me that every American state, city, town, and place has a unique contribution to this nation.
