OUR STAFF
Donna
Cox Baker, Editor-in-Chief,
holds degrees from Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is working toward a PhD in history at the University of Alabama. While working on her master’s degree at UAB, she served as the first managing editor of The Vulcan Historical Review, which became the top student history journal in the nation under her leadership. Prior to coming aboard with Alabama Heritage in 2002, she served as the Communications Director for an international Fortune 500 corporation. She also taught history as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama before returning to do her doctoral work.

Robin
McDonald, Designer,
has
been the designer for Alabama Heritage since 1991. A native
of London, England and a graduate of Emory University and later
Columbia University with an M.A. in Art History, he has been a
freelance graphic artist since 1984, and continues to practice
from his home in Birmingham. In 1981 he received a Gold Medal
from the Art Director's Club of New York for his work on Horizon
Magazine. Since, he has been the recipient of numerous national,
regional, state, and local awards, including several Council for
Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Awards for his work
at Alabama Heritage.

Sara
C. Martin, Marketing Director,
directs all sales and marketing activities of the magazine, including corporate
sponsorships, advertising, circulation, ancillary products, and our Friends of Alabama
Heritage support group.

Cindy Sanford,
Office Assistant, oversees
the daily running of our offices. She processes our subscription and product
orders and will help you with any questions about the magazine you have.

Meredith
Purser ,
Marketing Assistant, holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications
from the University of Alabama. She assists in all sales and marketing
activities including all direct mail efforts, press releases, and
website updates.

Susan Reynolds, Assistant Editor, is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at The University of Alabama, where she teaches composition and British literature. (205) 348-6197 |
Elizabeth
Wade, Assistant Editor, is
a graduate of Davidson College. She
is pursuing a PhD in Literature at the University of Alabama, where
she has taught literature and composition courses. Her poetry and
essays have appeared in such journals as Hayden's Ferry Review, Spoon
River Poetry Review, and Harpur Palate.

Matthew Kelley, Assistant Editor,
holds an M.A. in business psychology from the University of Alabama where he was an instructor teaching courses in statistics and experimental psychology for several years.
