ANNOUNCE NEW PUBLISHING
PARTNERSHIP
Washington, DC
(May 15, 2006) The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a
private, non-profit organization dedicated to saving America's historic
places, and The Taunton Press, the leading publisher in the house
and home category today announced its partnership to publish a line
of co-branded books supporting the growing preservation movement.
Under
the new imprint, The National Trust and The Taunton Press will work
together in the development and promotion of books themed around the
historic American home with topics ranging from 'how-to' renovation
to community revitalization. The first in the line of titles is Where
We Lived: Discovering
the Places We Once Called Home, The American Home from 1790-1840 by
Jack Larkin- which will publish on December 4, 2006.
"We
are proud to collaborate with The National Trust," said
Jim Childs, book publisher of The Taunton Press. "Our new alliance
will allow us to produce unique, high profile books that will bring
the National Trust name and mission into contact with a broader consumer
market."
The
new partnership combines two well-known brands, offering the opportunity
for Taunton to reach a growing history market while giving The National
Trust the ability to broaden its reach into the burgeoning house
and home market. The publishing announcement coincides with May's
National Preservation Month, which encourages people to celebrate
the diverse and unique heritage of U.S. communities and states.
"We
are especially pleased in our new relationship with The Taunton Press,
said Richard Moe, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. "This
